Music Director Wanted

Ellsworth United Methodist Church is in search of a new Music Director for their worship services.

Position Title: Music Director, Ellsworth United Methodist Church
Available: June 8, 2014
Closing Date: Until suitable candidate is found
Duties include:

·         Providing music for weekly Sunday services and some special occasions (either by playing the organ, piano or running a portable music player)

·         Maintaining and operating basic sound equipment (2 mics, 4 speakers, 4-channel sound board and CD player)

·         Directing a small choir that leads the congregation in hymns and performs 3 “special music” pieces per week.

Desired qualifications:

– Strong singing voice desired to lead congregation in singing hymns.

– Experience with sound equipment is VERY helpful here (there isn’t anyone in the congregation who is technical enough to do so).

– Some light website updating/maintenance is included as well.

This is a great little congregation! All these folks are very supportive and open to new ideas and pretty much all musical styles. The chosen candidate will be asked to start services on June 8th or later (if necessary). You can find out more about the church at

  1. Can you give me a little more info on the position? i.e. number in congregation, size of town, potential for growth etc.
I am currently the music director at St. Pauls Memorial United Methodist in South Bend Indiana and I may be interested in moving to Maine but I need to know a bit more.
