Outdoor sanctuary is shaping up!

At one of our GPYes! Monday night gatherings a couple of weeks ago, some hard-working gardeners put their skills to work and planted some beautiful flowers around the bench and birch cross in our outdoor sanctuary. Our roving photographer, Z, caught some action shots of the evening’s planting.

Susan surveys the job site.

Filling the pot with good, fertile soil.

Nancy approves of Susan's work.

The fruit of their labors.

More flowers? Of course!

John, getting creative. Love that gardening stool!

Our church, with our outdoor sanctuary to the left - before flowers.

We hope that many will come and take advantage of this quiet space to reflect and pray enjoy the bright colors and sweet smells. And the flowers are just a start – there’s been talk of wiring up some speakers so folks can enjoy some contemplative sounds while they meditate. What about you? What would make this space special for you?  We’d love to hear your ideas! Post them as a comment below or email young@midmaine.com and share them with Pastor Sue.

Peace and flower petals,

-Amy B.
