We realize that there are many reasons why some of our friends and neighbors can’t be at church on any given Sunday – health concerns, distance, other obligations, scheduling conflicts – we know that “life happens.”
But we also know that establishing or keeping a spiritual connection with a group is important, too. That’s why, starting 1/11/09, we’ll be digitally recording our Sunday service and uploading it to this blog, as well as putting it on CD for those who can’t be with us to listen to.
We hope that those folks that have worshipped with us before (maybe in the summertime on vacation, or when they were just passing through the area) take this opportunity to remind themselves of the experience they had at “that little white church in Ellsworth.” Or that those of us that can’t make it to Ellsworth United Methodist Church on Sunday because they’re not feeling well, or are not able to leave the house listen and take comfort from familiar voices and sounds.
However they are used, audio recordings of our services will be available online for approximately 3 months before they are archived.
They will be recorded in .mp3 format, so you may play them on any MP3 player, or on your computer using Windows Media Player or iTunes.
If you have any technical questions, or have trouble accessing the files, email EUMC webmaster Amy Briggs.
Apparently, old man winter didn’t want to cooperate on Jan. 11th, or Jan. 18th, so this past Sunday, Jan. 25th, was the first day I actually recorded a service.
After a bunch of editing, I’ve broken the file out into five parts: Prayers, the Psalm of the day, Scripture readings, Music, the sermon and the Benediction. Okay, maybe that’s six. 🙂
But the files will be ready for download from this site soon. Stay tuned for a separate sermon summary post.
